Coronavirus vaccines: When will I be able to get vaccinated in North Carolina?

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has a plan to vaccinate as many people as possible as soon as possible. To most efficiently and effectively allocate the vaccine, they have defined 5 Groups based on potential exposure to the virus and level of risk for COVID-19 complications. These groups are:

Group 1: Health care workers & Long-Term Care staff and residents

Group 2: Older adults

Group 3: Frontline essential workers

Group 4: Adults at high risk for exposure and increased risk of severe illness

Group 5: Everyone else

Read more about these 5 Groups on the NC DHHS Vaccines page. NC DHHS also has an online tool called “Find My Vaccine Group” to help you identify which of these 5 Groups you probably belong to.
